Owner, Physical Therapist

Jeff Lopez

Jeff Lopez, PT and owner of Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy brings more than 25 years of experience in physical therapy and a strong background in orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Biophysics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1998, followed by his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from UAB in 2000.

After completing his graduate training, Jeff served as a Physical Therapist in the United States Air Force from 2001–2005. He entered the Air Force as a First Lieutenant and was promoted to Captain prior to completing his service in 2005.

In 2004, Jeff became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), reflecting advanced knowledge and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions.

Throughout his career, Jeff has remained committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care that helps patients reduce pain, restore movement, regain strength, and return to the activities they enjoy. His extensive clinical experience, combined with his military service and advanced orthopedic training, provides a strong foundation for the personalized care offered at Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy.

Co-Owner

Mary Margret Lopez

Mary Margaret Lopez is a business owner, realtor, and co-owner of Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1998.

With a background in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and residential real estate, Mary Margaret brings a unique combination of professional experience and business expertise to the clinic. Besides being a realtor, she owns and manages two residential real estate rental companies and has extensive experience in real estate, including identifying and locating the space for Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy.

As Jeff’s wife and business partner, Mary Margaret plays an important role in the development and growth of the practice, combining her healthcare background and entrepreneurial experience to help build a welcoming, professional environment for patients and the community.

Office Manager

Jess Douglas

Jess Douglas is the Office Manager at Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Albright College in Pennsylvania in May 2002, as well as a certification in Elementary and Special Education.

Prior to joining Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy, Jess spent 13 years serving as a middle school teacher. Her years in education provided her with valuable experience in communication, organization, relationship-building, and connecting with people. She brings that same energy, compassion, and dedication to her role as Office Manager.

Jess is passionate about creating a welcoming environment and making every patient feel valued and cared for. She is excited to bring her experience and love for people to Jeff Lopez Physical Therapy and to be part of a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of its patients.
